What is the Wolverine Stack?

The “Wolverine Stack” is the informal research community name for the combined administration of two synthetic peptides:

  • BPC-157 — a 15-amino-acid pentadecapeptide derived from a partial sequence of body protection compound, originally isolated from human gastric juice
  • TB-500 — a synthetic fragment (residues 17-23) of the naturally occurring 43-amino-acid protein Thymosin Beta-4

The name references the X-Men character — popularized in research-community shorthand — a popular metaphor in the research community because both peptides have been studied for their respective roles in soft-tissue repair, angiogenesis, and connective-tissue research pathways.
